Callum's Birthday

Well Callum had a good birthday and it's taken me this long to get around to blogging it because I've had to start to get ready for Finn's !!
Callum's birthday was a thursday so he enjoyed taking cakes to school after his choice of pancakes for breakfast. He chose Pizza for dinner and then went off to soccer training. As an aside it was the start of the target toy sale that day and can I just say people are crazy!!
On the saturday following his birthday he had a party at the YMCA doing rock climbing and indoor cricket. He had 12 people come and had a good time - fairly low stress for us as they run the activities only thing was that i had to ask parents to stay to beable to belay kids they all had a good go at climbing and the time flew. Scully was a natural at rock climbing - no surprises there to those who know him!!!
I made a rock climbing cake with the cake shaped like a mountain and little men climbing up (actually army men I had cut the guns etc off and painted so they werent all green!) their ropes were embroidery thread and the grass sour strap etc. rocks were violet crumble, maltesers and cadbury choc balls. cola nerds and choc sprinkles worked well as little rocks. I was happy with it and will get photos soon.
After the party we dashed home opened pressies and headed off to my dad's for the rest of the weekend (really only sunday as we arrrived about 8pm) the boys and dog had a great time at dad's - the dog particularly liked eating wombat poo and rolling in every other smelly thing it could find.
Callum scored the only goal in today's soccer game. Was great as was against the top team and helps secure their place in the final 4.
Am busy getting ready for Finn's party next sat as is at home.
Also our plans are ready to look at but don't know when we'll get their as can't get babysitters at the moment!!!!!!! (why did you go sob sob sob )
Will blog after Finn's party hopefully as have a bit more time between his and Scully's!

Soccer in the rain?!

Well it was strange to watch B1 play soccer today because it was actually raining with mud and everthing! I think in the years since he started we have had about 3 wet games - my memories of me playing soccer were lots of wet muddy days where you understood what studs were for. They had a frustrating game with a nil all draw but for 98% of the time they were in their half and had numerous attempts at goal they just didnt score. From the side line it felt like when we watched Australia play Italy!
As I type the lizards are very active - they either hate each other or want to get very friendly with each other - it's hard to know which since we have no idea of their sex!! Before this wet weekend there were some warmer days and the lizards started to sleep less and play more!
We had a good time visiting my sister and friends in Canberra while we were away. but it was nice to get home after 5 nights in strange beds and one very frosty morning in Canberra - there was ice over parts of the creek behind were we stayed - the kids thought it was great.
When I picked up the puppy from the temp carer I felt like I was getting a naughty child from school. He chewed their pot plants and tyres in the garage and he weed on the carpet 4-5 times and he left scratch marks on their arms. He dosent' do that to us - he chews the plants in the garden but anything precious I keep out of reach and he hasn't had an accident inside in weeks and none since we picked him up. I felt a bit down afterwards but think it was probably just puppy behaviour especially since he has never left a mark on us with his teeth even on the kids - I think you would have to keep playing with him when he starts to get them and we never alow that. Anyway he is growing and seems to be behaving a bit better as he gets older.
B1 is very excited about his birthday and party coming up next week adn I am frustrated by people not RSVPing especially since it's a rock climbing/indoor cricket at the YMCa party and I need numbers!!!! Oh well maybe when school goes back on Monday!
B3 is havinga bob the builder party and B2 a gym party also at teh YMCA and of course it's just full on getting those organised now. I sort of got them sorted early to get the dates them put it our of my mind till B1 said it was 9 days till his birthday and I then went into argghhhhh I'm not organised mode. It's more b3's that's the issue as I am doing the at home playgroup type activities party that I did for the other 2 so it needs a bit more work.
anyway enough for now
only tomorow left of holidays and then another 11 week term!!

A reply to Graeme

Before they regraded the teams after 3 weeks we did have warradale in our division - I think they don't like us!!
Callum scored a goal in the match yesterday - they lost 3-1 but a goal's a goal and at least he didn't take a dive to get it!!

I'm slack

I know it's been awhile since my last post mainly because I am slack. This week the boys started holidays - an extra week for us because of a private school. Ross also had the week off so we have done some things around the house and seen 'under the hedge' - it was Finn's first time at the movies and he coped fairly well. thankfully we went to a nonholiday non crowded session so there wasnt that many people there for us to annoy!
The youngest 2 have bad cold/coughs at the moment and that is always an added joy - just call number 3 winge city!! We tried out the bargain tent I bought and it looks good. Getting excited about camping in Dec. When its cold here.
The designer etc man came of Fri to talk about our extension - he had some good ideas and now it's just a matter of making it all fit a budget etc.
Had some fun at the shops with maria on thurs while ross looked after all the kids - sale time!! and just got my nephew his 21st present and am very happy with it.
also got on top of some of the presents need for the coming months which makes me feel good - i could spend money all the time - retail therapy works 4 me.
We did the first clean out of the lizards cage etc today which is as major as it gets - they really are a easy pet. They seem to enjoy their new clean cage which has chunkier wood chips now - hope they don't get splinters!!
We are off to Albury on Tues then onto Canberra till sun so don't expect anything till after then.
The dog is off to a temp. care family from mon to mon so we are dog free for a week - do you hear us leaping for joy - we will propably miss him but he is very interested in his blanket at the moment in a very inappropriate manner if you get my drift!! so a break from the 'wiggle bottom dance' as the boys call it will be good!
also can't rmemeber if I had a soccer winge before but was very dissapointed Aust. lost in way it did to Italy. To summerise - The red card to Italy was not deserved. - Australia had plenty of chances and didn't finish them due to missing Harry I think - The Italian dived and the Ref was hopeless at best and paid off at worst.
I was just thinking oh great I'm going to have to sit up for extra time etc and then it was all over and I was left feeling I had just wasted 2hrs of precious sleep.
Lucky it's just a game!! Callum now actively supports any team the Italians are up against and things that because they beat ukraine it means we would have and we should now feel we are in the semis!!! He's very competitive.
