One more week

One more week till holidays!!! Can't wait. Kids are tired and emotional and we all need a break. Sat was out first non committed day for a long time so it was great to do nothing. J & J's wedding was good fun - couple of poor photos (Kate's sure to put us to shame) but for the others who read this will give you an idea - Would love to know what Warren is telling Steve in bottom one!(but since usual readers are all members of Stubbings clan etc am not sure who I mean!) Am a big fan of Friday weddings now. Did usual friday things then went out and had a great time, kids behaved amazingly well or went to sleep and still had a whole weekend to do everything else. Love it.

Had Callum's soccer team get together on weekend and was nice he got the coach's award. And we got our 10,000lt water tank and put it in on Sunday with Barties help. Electrician is here today. So after next week with the floor sanding, carpet etc, should be all set to move in!!!

Looking forward to catching up with some of you on sat - arvo. Did Elizabeth go to that wedding at Settlers last Sunday? Because as we drove past on way back from soccer thing - there was one there - taking photos with the cars (because as I think Graeme said " they cost too much not to have them in the photos etc")

Survived the 40th

Yes Ross (and I) have survived him turning 40. His birthday was fun and he thought he was getting a wetsuit (Damn) but didn't pick the bbq yay. we had a fun day picking curtains and carpet etc - only fun when you in situation not something I would list on fun activities to do on your birthday!! Party went OK I think - hope people had fun. The best bit for me was catching up with old friends - most of whom read this and though we haven't been together for months it feels natural to sit around and talk etc. Nice to have friends like that :) Will post a couple of photos when I get some (thanks Kate in advance) because I didn't even think about getting the camera out.
Feeling washed out today - last week was a big one - roll on holidays - 2weeks away. Can't wait to not have to rush etc. and hopefully have a finished house to move into!!

My thoughts on HP

Please excuse typing - see earlier post.
Realised I didn't do thoughts - will be in point form
- Picked in 6 that Snape killed D because he asked - there was something about the 'please' of D. Also expected D to be saving Malfoy from effect killing would have.
- Knew Ha wouldnt die - even when 'had to die to kill V' - think anyone who's christian could pick that (read CS Lewis if didnt)
- Like Kate, I loved way H calls V tom Riddle at end.
- Like way V dies - rebound and not H curse - related to that also picked that 'expelliarmis' would be crucial in last scene - some ref by D or hermoine in 6 or early 7 - because read straight through are a bit of a blur.
- glad H gets with G and R and H - the last 2 so predictable. Loved way that R's concern for house elfs is what gets kiss to happen.
- nevilles part in end good - wondered if in end he would finally be the ' chosen one' of prophecy instead of H
- thought teh last chapter just right - confirms all ok and close still but not every gap filled. have heard some who would have had nothing and leave up to imagination and another who wanted more but it was just right for me.
- could cope with allt he deaths but freds sad (just because he's a weasley) , lupin and tonks predictable when she turns up to fight and leaves H in godfather role - link back to his relationship with siris
- Like way Kreacher does such a turn around
- love way Mrs Weasley joins in fight at end and gets B? - such a mother thing to do - can totally understand that response - if you touch my kids you will unleash my wrath. esp after fred. Also like way that she and Fleur bond after Bill attacked by greyback - i didn't like Fleur till then either - very clever JK
will have to read them all again sometime but after a break.
Thanks to Kate, Graeme and rest of Stubbings for giving me reason to read them.
anyway thats just a couple of things looking forward to more chats now im up to date! when we see you all

It had to happen one day!

yes I survived the first 39yrs and 3month of my life without ever having stiches (except the gynocological kind and thats too much info and don't count). Today I got some stiches in my hand.
I went to GP shops with Finn and went to put up his umbrella. One of the spokes was broken and it gouged into my hand. I could see flesh so went to the medical centre there to get some stiches - they were great and did it straight away and my friend Maria was a star and came straight away as I was worried would have to get stiches at hosp etc and couldnt drive and had Finn , and not feeling best at moments etc but all OK in end.
Luckily was my left hand so can still do most things and my typing is passable!
Great timing though as off to Umina for a couple of nights - thanks George for giving us a public holiday by bringing the entourage to town for APEC! and then prep for Ross party. Should be fine but just annoyed with self.

Two triumph day

Just had to post to let you all know 2 major things
1. The minor one is I finished HP7 today - was great because was reading on the train into and home from city (to see my niece and sister etc as niece just moved to sydney) and finished at St Marys on way home so could sit and digest and 'mourn' the end of a saga - those of you who've read will understand. Can't wait to see you HP readers and discuss - in your HP friday post Kate you should have counted me amongst people you persuaded to read it.
2. Major news was that Callum's team WON their grandfinal today YAY! 5-0 against Richmond. Cal scored one of the goals - great day for him. Was lovely to watch as the team have fun, not 'forced' or 'yelled' at to win as another u10 team from our club today was. (The other team's coach even left one of his team sitting on the sidelines for the ENTIRE game - there were some heated words coming from that area let me tell you!) Our Coach is lovely, committed and I'm sure was close to tears at the end of the game - simply because he was so happy for the boys. And I'm not just saying it because his son is a friend of Callums- he is one of the reasons I'm so happy for Cal to play soccer because he is truely a great coach - he teaches the skills but also cares for the kids there. Anyway hope to see you all soon
Will post when have more time to put some HP thought out there. Snape, R and H getting together, H and G, getting that H had to die etc, quickness of the deaths etc.
Have read the last 4 book end to end and quickly so an HP immersed at the moment - making refs to HP everywhere.
