Have been slack

Yes since posting the photos I've been slack about updating because once again you are going to have to wait for photos of the house.
The new gutter and fascia are up and the roof tiles are ordered - hopefully being installed next week. We are doing the rest of the roof as well as the new roof since we got a good deal so will look all new and make me even more eager to render - or maybe bag it myself etc.
The laundry has now gone and my washing machine is still there under a tarp for me to keep washing.
Finn was sick on weekend but better now.
Last week of school then 3weeks holidays.
Going to dad's for a few days next week and hopefully making another lizard cage.
Raining on and off so hindering builders. Today we have the 3 builders, 2 bricklayers and 1 plumber here! So it's all systems go. Pray for no rain just for a few days will you.
Just getting all the things in my head out for you to see where we are up to.
Would start on a rant about how dissapoointed I am that the Labor party is once again supporting that useless person called the primeminister in his useless approach to the problem in the aboringinal kids problem. But if I started I would probably not stop. Would rant about howards response but that I expect. The election savy weasel. The labor party had a chance at this next election (I thought) but this has lost my vote, and I'm the sort of voter they need to win back.

Frames all up

Yes we have the frame of our extension up, including roof and I promise photos soon!
Inbetween the rain of last week and the rain of this the builder built our house - is nice being able to walk around and see the layout etc and how the sizes really are - looking forward to having walls and roof soon - given the rain etc, that happened when we knocked off the back, I can only imagine what force the cyclonic conditions will be that the removal of the section of existing roof will precipitate.
Took the boys to the optomotrist today and both tending toward reading glasses - not because of longsightedness just eyes not focussing as should - Callum getting some and Scully not yet. Was a surprise as Callum such a voracious (sp?) reader didn't think had any probs!! Hope fully will stop it becoming an issue before it starts!
Hanging out for the holidays. Last week had school carnival etc. Only dry days of week.
This week Callum has a rugby union gala day and they have school photos.
Next week will hopefully be normal!
Heading to museum in hols - to see the Gondwana theatre piece - saw it in Canberra and was good - dinosaurs, puppets and robotics etc - bit like WWdinosaurs but not on such a large scale and then with friends visiting area and us visiting dad and Callum's birthday in the last (third) week I'm sure the time will fly!
No Soccer this am! Sleeping in for first time in ages - as least I would have if the kids would have been quite! Why did I have them again?

It is pouring here!

Title is in Ref to Kate's blog for those of you who don't read it she had a title - It never rains but it pours
Yes the builders removed all the back of the house this week (except the laundry) and so with an exposed back of the house the rain and wind began to fall and blow - in the extreme. The builder had put some plastic over the back of the house but on Friday he had to come back and put more on as the wind etc meant the rain was getting higher than normal and the boys bedroom wall had water starting to trickly down it - inside!! Lovely weather! Hard to complain about rain in a drought sticken land but the timing could have been better! And we have no problem compared to those who were killed or flooded etc.
Ross has taken 2 big boys, today, to go and help his parents with a little bit of damage they received. Finn and I went shopping and now I hope he'll watch endless videos and leave me alone!! Tell her she's dreaming.
Is great to have house started and hope after the long weekend the weather isn't too bad and they can get back to work soon. Film is getting more used us so should have photos soon!

The Builders Back

Yes and the weather is fine!
things tool a leap forward today with the back room being walled off and the walls being removed from the old extension. The builder is trying to keep the laundry as long as possible and so it is still there (so the house is looking a bit like it would have origingally before the first extension.
Great to have things happening and since the back door has moved to the gap between the kitchen and back room it's like it can be all shut out by closing the door!
Yes I did take some photos but as you all know you'll have to wait till it's developed - probably be able to give you the whole lot of pictures from bricks coming off to it being finished in one go!
Am currently planning a "Big Chill" weekend (movie ref for those of you of a younger generation!) for our uni friends in Oct as it's been 20yrs this year since we met. Somewhere down the coast, caravan park with lots of activities and diff accomm. After all the 40th birthdays that happen this year!
Had a bit of a rant to my friends Marg and Don this morning about how I can't stand the way the media puts so much emphasis on what actors etc have to say - or actors etc who think they are so important and have something to say that everyone should listen to. For crying out loud - all they do is pretend! I have 3 children very capable of doing that! Yes the good ones are entertaining but THAT'S ALL!!!!! That doesnt make them news worthy. Should have put this in as one of my 7 facts so am adding it now.

It's my birthday!

It's my birthday and Kate Tagged me.
Being tagged is part of some weird ;) game where you tag 7 people and they do the following...

The rules: Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag 7 others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

Since I don't know 7 other people who have a blog who havent been tagged by Kate then I'll just do the random facts stuff.

1. Today's my 39th birthday. Have no hassles turning 39 and even less turning 40 next year - am already planning a party. Maybe I'm getting comfortable in my own skin and although it's beginning to sag who cares!

2. I don't understand why schools put up with bullies that cause them to lose good students and even staff! Not when it happens frequently - know that you have to care for the bully as well but what happens to good kids?

3. I was going to study medicine at newcastle if my marks had been good enough but ended up at anu in canberra doing science - who would I have been if i'd gone there?

4. Can't decide what to do when no longer at home with kids. should i do midwifery or primary teaching - maybe I should run a poll. Could I even study again or has my brain left the building?

5. I get angry about how undervalued being a stay at home mother is. I get ignored by people who work who don't think I have a brain, I get accused of wasting time etc because I have time to have coffee with friends with children in tow - with no free brain space to devote only to the conversation because I am also keeping child entertained and out of everyone elses space etc. I get to angry to talk about it.

6. One thing I get more angry about is the Howard government esp John Howard himself. Not even going to go there.

7. When tipping in the NRL footy comp I will never tip for the bulldogs - and usually tip for panthers.

So there you go 7 facts - couldn't think of anything exciting
Have had a good birthday - pancakes and presents at breaky, Playgroup and cake in morning , Lunch with friends, birthday cake for afternoon tea and looking forward to thai and alcohol tonight! See it's not bad being 39.
