Birthday Season is finished!

Well have had Ross' birthday on Monday and all over now. Till next year. Ross had the day off work so we had a nice day having coffee etc. Finn made it difficult to enjoy the window shopping but next year he'll be in preschool on Mondays so will go shopping together etc on those days. Didn't get Ross the tickets but did get him a coffee machine so he can make me Cappacino's - selfless arn't I. The kids school had a spring fair on Sat which was fun and the dog has been at the guidedogs this week which is good and means we can try and live without dog hair for awhile. He is back on Tuesday but the week has confirmed that I don't want to do it again. Is a lovely dog but is so nice not having to think about dropping things on the floor, kids toys being eaten, walking, cleaning up poo etc etc. The kids haven't missed him as much as I thought they would but them we know it's only for the week. Felt like I should post as just left Kate a message saying what are you doing?!!

Extension update

Realised you don't know where we are up to in extension timeline.
We had thought about moving but decided more economical to extend and stay here for another 6 or more years. (Till I'm working again - factoring in studying time) Putting on a main bedroom with walk in robe and ensuite and a deck, moving the back wall back a metre, changing current laundry into a walk in linen and seperate laundry, putting all under one roof and changing to iron roof. removing garage and having carport, changing front verandah.
We've had plans drawn up and are currently getting quotes. Since only one of the builders can start before 2007 it may be awhile before we get anywhere! Have got one quote back and it's ok and so are going to put plans into council asap incase we want to go with the one who can start this year.
With birthday season taking up most of our brain space for the last month or so it seems like it's been forever and now Sept is just a crazy month at school with sporting stuff and performances etc. Hanging out for the holidays and some normality.

Scully's Birthday

Well I'm over birthday's but should let you know how Scully's went.
His birthday was good - on a Friday so he was happy as he likes them best. He had croissants for breakfast and took cakes with little dinosaur, dolphin and fish sprinkles on them for his class. He got a new bike and numerous toys - dinosaurs mostly.
Since the YMCA made a mistake when booking the party we had to move it from the 26th to the 2nd. So after a week he had 15 kids join him at the YMCA for a fun Gymnastics party where they get to run and jump and fall on the sprung floor, big mats, huge pits of foam cubes and all the rings, bars etc. He had a great time and most of the kids and their parents have commented it was great. He chose a jungle cake for his birthday with green icing leaves on top of a green cake (3 cakes high) with flakes standing up around the edge for trunks and lolly bannanas, pinapples etc and (the reason Scully picked it) toy smakes, lizards and frogs over it.
Was fairly easy as you don't have to run games etc they do it and you just do the food and with the 2.30 -4.30pm slot I just did afternoon tea party food - easy. He got a great lot of presents and all but three had a dinosaur conection - yes they do know him. And one of the others was a starwars themed thing so he was extrememly happy.
Now we have survived Fathers day and await Ross' birthday next monday - after which I have told the boys we are not having lollies in the house!!! Otherwise we'll get to christmas and be over them completely.
Scully thinks it's very sad about the Crocodile Hunter. So do we.
