The ups and downs of computers

Well over the past week we've had the lows highs and lows of dealing with computers.
We bought a new computer (YAY) and tried to load the wireless stuff onto it - I am not a computer geek but I'm also not useless and after a full afternoon of it not working I was ready to kill it. Talked to the support person and finally got it working monday - i was elated.
Then tuesday/yesterday it stated having 'issues' (best Kath & Kim voice please) and so today tried sorting it out with the support person again - in the end they were going to replace the wireless router with a new one - but I was so pissed off with the whole thing by then that I decided to ring the store and try and get my money back.
Dick Smith in Plaza are champions - they took it back and gave me credit not cash - but credit that can be used in heaps of places so as good as cash. They get a big thumbs up.
So have just rung Optus and next week will get the cable point moved to the other room. Since our new computer can play DVD's/ TV etc and has a bigger screen it will probably live there for a long time - esp as we don't want the computer to go in a bedroom etc and the TV is in the front room.
So the only thing now is to make sure the optus man gets here!!!
Our other hassle at the moment is that the aircon man came to quote on installation and of course he found a prob with the electricals and they will have to replace the whole meter box and if the stuff from street not good enough they will have to put in a whole new pole in our front yard and do all that garbage!!! I can just see $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The house budget didn't blow out on the build etc - but the aircon just might!!!! those of you who pray could pray about this for me please - not a major life issue but is stressing me at moment! Ta
So will post when can do it from back room by broadband connection!!

Survived holidays

Just a quick note to let you know we are still here. Survived the holidays and moved into our room. All of us have new rooms. Boys are back at school and we had a great weekend catching up with old uni friends last weekend - 20yrs since we all met!! Yep I am old.
Since the broadband connection is in our old room (now the 2 big boys) and the computer is out the back am not accessing internet as easily at moment - though do check blogs to catch glimpse of how K and G are etc. !!!!! Got all the stuff to make it wireless and thus easy to access etc but because computer is from Ross work it won't let me load stuff I need to make it work. So we will buy a computer of our own again!! Thus the wait! Sorry but posts wont be regular till sorted. Hope you had a good birthday Sue - on monday - thought of you but didn't email or txt sorry - does thinking of you count!

School holiday happenings

Just a quick update as realised it's been awhile.
The floors got sanded last tues/wed so the boys and I went to dad's to escape the worst of it. It look good. The carpet goes in tomorrow so should be able to move in soon!!
We ripped out the front garden yesterday and replanted it with a heap of Agapanthus that I got from my Dad's. Hopefully they willl all grow and become and easy care front garden that dosent need water or work and will stop the neighbourhood cats using the garden as a toilet.
Kids Ok but need a break from each other soon. Now that Ross off that should be able to happen and Finn at preschool as usual tomorrow so that will help. (me as much as anyone!)
Prob wont get time to post till after hols now and not that much happening - not that there ever is but that dosent usually stop me!
